Data Science: Programming With Python

From July 6th to 11th, Lina attended the Utrecht Summer School course “Data Science: Programming with Python” in the Netherlands. This was an introductory course to the Python programming language held by lecturers Anastasia Giachanou and Pablo Mosteiro Romero. From the basics of Python to large language models – a lot was covered in one week. The gained knowledge was used to program a short game and conduct data analysis on an existing dataset about Dutch demography. Lina will utilise this knowledge in analysing animal behaviour, as many open-source programs in this field are written in Python.

Utrecht Summer School also organised a lot of social activities, so Lina spent her time getting to know other students from all over the world, as well as exploring the beautiful city of Utrecht.
